Ancient charity welcomes young apprentice to the team

The Rochester Bridge Trust has welcomed its first in-house apprentice to the team.

Teylor Jones-Gill, 19, from Hoo, joins the Trust in a finance and office administration role, which is to include one day a week of study at MidKent College.

Paula Puxty, Chief Finance Officer at the Trust explained: “We encourage contractors to take on apprentices and as many people know, we also run an award-winning education programme. Now as we are expanding our small team of staff we thought it was the perfect opportunity to lead by example and take on our own apprentice.

“We are very pleased to welcome Teylor to the team.”

The full-time role sees Teylor supporting the Finance Team and the Chief Executive’s Secretary with a range of financial and administrative tasks. In April he will then begin his 15-month Level 2 Business Administration qualification.

Teylor added: “I’m really pleased to have joined the Rochester Bridge Trust. This apprenticeship is an opportunity to build on my previous learning and to introduce me to an office environment. I see it as a good starting point for the world of work.”

A former pupil of Brompton Academy, Teylor studied business and information technology BTECs at A-level equivalent, as well as an A-level in financial studies.
