Lane restrictions on Rochester’s bridges

For three nights from today, Wednesday, 2nd November, there will be temporary off-peak single lane closures on Rochester’s bridges.

The closures, which will take place between 9pm and 4am, are part of the Trust’s ongoing maintenance programme. They will see one lane of the Old Bridge closed at a time, as the bow string truss arches are cleaned.

There will also be lane closures on the New Bridge, overnight on Thursday, 3rd November, to facilitate the safe installation of the Trust’s Christmas lights.

Jim Booth of Arcadis, Bridge Engineers to the Trust, explained: “This work has been scheduled to cause minimal disruption to road users but we appreciate people’s patience during these temporary road closures.”
