Bricks reveal a glimpse of history

Victorian Cast Iron Bridge Built by Sir William Cubitt

The bridge we have today is a reconstruction of the Victorian bridge designed by Sir William Cubitt and the structure now revealed would have been built at the same time – more than 150 years ago.

A general view

The sandy brown bricks which can now be seen give a glimpse of how part of that bridge might have looked.
