Thank you to Sarah Hohler

The Rochester Bridge Trust would like to express its heartfelt thanks to Sarah Hohler, who is retiring from the Court of Wardens and Assistants after 11 years of service.

Sarah’s colleagues on the Court expressed their thanks at her last scheduled meeting on 21 May, celebrating her long, successful tenure with the Rochester Bridge Trust. Nominated by Kent County Council to the Trust in 2015, Sarah served on the Charitable Projects Committee and Property Committee and has been a great supporter of the Trust’s education programmes.

A particular highlight of Sarah’s time with the Trust was a visit to the Forth Bridges in Edinburgh with the Trust’s engineering scholars, which saw her join the group in climbing to the top of the famous railway bridge.

Aside from her work with Rochester Bridge Trust, Sarah enjoyed a richly varied career. After studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford, Sarah taught in Ghana, worked in publishing and for the British Council in Hong Kong, New York and Brussels.

Sarah previously represented the ward of Malling North at Kent County Council, being re-elected many times and serving as Deputy Cabinet Member for Community and Regulatory Services. She was a member of the Kent and Medway Fire Authority and has also served as a trustee of Kent Music, Turner Contemporary Art Gallery in Margate and the Kent Community Foundation.

The Trust is enormously grateful to Sarah for her long service on the Court of Wardens and Assistants.
