Pedestrians are advised there will be a temporary closure of the footway on part of Rochester Esplanade, from Tuesday, 9 January, until Friday 19 January, while maintenance works are carried out.
The closure will take place on the footway between Castle Hill and The Royal Crown pub, with pedestrians diverted to the riverside footway across the road.
During this period scaffolding will be erected outside the Bridge Chamber, to enable access for a specialist heritage painter.
Access to the footway for entrance to buildings or parking will be possible. The closure is to ensure pedestrians travelling along Rochester Esplanade are able to safely cross without walking into the road.
