Metrail Construction Ltd

While all the work for the Rochester Bridge Refurbishment Project is deemed necessary, a lot of it is not particularly easy to see.

Metrail Construction Ltd has been brought in to carry out several of these activities, in particular highly specialised concrete repairs and waterproofing. At the end of the project the untrained eye will be unlikely to be able to identify whether or not either of these activities has been carried out, but both are important for ensuring the long-term integrity of the bridges.

Contracted by FM Conway, Metrail’s head office is in Hailsham near Eastbourne. The firm has significant experience in the repair and maintenance of structures on Britain’s road and rail network, including waterproofing on the new Forth Bridge in Scotland.

Metrail has also been contracted to supply and fit expansion joints [more about these another day] towards the end of the project.
