Rochester Firm Wins Trust Award

Congratulations to GeKu Automation, one of the winners at this year’s Medway Business Awards.

The high tech robotics company’s engineering excellence and commitment to training young people won the special award sponsored by the Rochester Bridge Trust.

The prize of £200 and a trophy made by the Trust’s craftsmen were presented to Rochester-based GeKu Automation by Assistant Warden Russell Cooper at the Medway Business Awards gala dinner in the St George’s Centre, Chatham, on 18 November.

“GeKu has an impressive track record in innovation, product development and technical excellence,” said Mr Cooper. “This, combined with its commitment to training its workforce and encouraging young people to develop their skills, made it the winner of this year’s Trust-sponsored award.”

Notes:

1. The Rochester Bridge Trust is a charitable trust that exists to maintain the old and new bridges at Rochester and serve the travelling public. It is the only surviving bridge trust still serving its original purpose, and it has served the people of Kent since 1399. The Trust also supports numerous community and education projects across historic Kent and Medway.

2. The Trust’s assets all derive from endowments of land and money in the 14th and 15th centuries and are carefully managed in order to provide an income to fund bridge maintenance and local charitable grants. The Trust receives no external funding and is regulated by the Charity Commission.
