Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme (BICS) Bursary

How to Apply

The bursary is provided by the Rochester Bridge Trust. Applicants must be earning under £50,000 per annum and be either freelance or able to confirm their employer will not fund participation in the course.

Please fill in the application form and return it either by email or post, as directed.

To be eligible for the bursary, applicants must also be registered with BICS.

Upon registration, candidates are required to successfully complete a knowledge-based test, then allocated an e-portfolio of mandatory units to complete, along with a minimum of one specific bridge type from masonry, concrete and metallic.

Units can be completed as time allows, within a 12-month timeframe.

Upon completion, the portfolio will be reviewed by an assessor. Candidates who pass this assessment will then be invited to an interview to answer a series of questions to demonstrate the necessary competencies.
