Rochester Bridge Trust is inviting secondary schools to apply to take part in the pilot of the Engineering Enrichment Schools Programme (EESP). This is a two-year project that will strengthen engineering and maths-related learning in secondary schools whose applications are successful.
The programme aims to help develop future engineers and address local and national shortages in civil engineering skills.
The Engineering Enrichment Schools Programme opened to applications from local schools on 9 March 2026. Applications will close on 1 May 2026.
Successful applicant schools will receive £10,000 in funding over two years, to be spent on engineering and maths enrichment activities. Part of this funding will consist of a TLR3 allocation (or equivalent) to the school’s nominated lead for the programme.
As well as funding, the Trust will also provide specialist expertise and enrichment opportunities to strengthen STEM provision across primary and secondary settings within their academy network.
As part of the Engineering Enrichment Schools Programme, participating schools will be supported to provide hands-on practical sessions, challenges, clubs and competitions for learners. Their pupils will have access to the Trust’s library of education materials as well as visits to show them engineering in action.
