Summer staffing opportunities with the Rochester Bridge Trust

Are you looking for summer work? Do you enjoy engaging with people of all ages? The Rochester Bridge Trust has a number of temporary vacancies.

Visitor Assistants

On Saturdays from June until late September, the Trust requires a team of temporary visitor assistants to welcome visitors to its historic Bridge Chapel and Chamber on Rochester Esplanade. In addition, there will be two Sundays to be worked in September during Heritage Open Days.

These roles are particularly suited for people with an interest in local history and experience of working with the public.

The assistants will be expected to welcome visitors, answer their queries and ensure the building and its collection are treated with care and respect. Full training and a branded polo shirt will be provided.

The salary is £12.60 per hour for five-and-a-half hours per day. For more details see the Hiring People website.

Education Assistants

For the whole of August, the Trust requires a team of temporary education assistants to engage and support people of all ages to help celebrate civil engineering as part of an exciting event in Rochester Cathedral.

The role would suit enthusiastic individuals who are happy to engage with both children and adults and encourage them to take part in the activities on offer. An interest in STEM subjects is desirable.

The event is open seven days a week but individuals will not be required to work every day. Full training and a branded polo shirt will be provided.

Under 18s who are in Year 12+ are eligible to apply for these roles. The salary is £12.60 per hour for five hours and 45 minutes Monday to Saturday and four hours 15 minutes on Sundays. Successful candidates will be required to complete a DBS check. For more details see the Hiring People website.
