Rochester Bridge maintenance team named “most-considerate” in national awards

Consideration for the community is at the heart of work on and around Rochester Bridge, and now this activity has been recognised with a national award.

The Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) – the national organisation dedicated to best practice in worker wellbeing, community relations and environmental impact – has named the Rochester Bridge Trust maintenance team as a gold standard most-considerate site.

Jim Booth, Director of Bridges at the Rochester Bridge Trust, said: “We’re incredibly pleased our maintenance team from FM Conway has been recognised by the CCS. This is testament to the fantastic teamwork between client and contractor, and our very close focus on the impact of any activity on the community.

“Wherever possible, maintenance is carried out overnight, and with at least one lane of each bridge open at all times. All activity is also net zero carbon. These are just some of the things we do to minimise our impact on the community.”
