Congratulations to FM Conway for carbon certification

The Rochester Bridge Trust is pleased to congratulate contractor FM Conway for achieving the global standard for the management and reduction of whole-life carbon in infrastructure and the built environment.

FM Conway is now British Standards Institute (BSI) certified to PAS 2080:2023. This provides the framework for managing whole-life carbon through early collaboration with the whole value chain, embedding low carbon decision making into every phase of the works.

The Trust has long seen this approach demonstrated by FM Conway, through collaborative working to maintain Rochester Bridge.

Acting as Term Maintenance Contractor for the Trust since [YEAR], FM Conway was fully engaged in the process to bring all bridge maintenance activities to Net Zero Carbon, which was successfully achieved in March 2022.

James Booth, Director of Bridges at the Trust, said: “FM Conway has been incredibly supportive during our journey to achieving Net Zero, working with us to trial different equipment and adapt processes to meet our environmental goals.

“We all have a responsibility to reduce our environmental impact, and we are pleased to see FM Conway confirming their own commitment to reduce carbon.”
