A centuries-old tradition has continued at the Rochester Bridge Trust with the re-election of two Wardens.
Russell Cooper and Phil Filmer are to continue in the roles of Senior Warden and Junior Warden, to lead the Trust through the Rochester Bridge Refurbishment Project.
A chartered surveyor and a civil engineer respectively, the pair were initially elected to serve two-year terms in 2017. Their professional experience and close involvement in the refurbishment saw them re-elected to ensure continuity during the refurbishment works.
Senior Warden Russell Cooper said: “To be re-elected as part of a more than 600-year tradition at such an important time in the Trust’s work is an honour and a privilege. The refurbishment project is a significant undertaking that will ensure the bridges are in the best possible condition for many years to come, which was also the priority of the very first Warden, who was elected in 1383.”
